Our History

Owner Frank Gaetano was born and raised in Italy. As a young boy he played soccer. He continued to follow the sport into his adult years. In July 1968 he came to America to marry his future wife Elizabeth. After working for a short time in a glass factory; he joined his father in law in the family mushroom business. After a few years he took over, and built the business located behind his place of residence into one of the top mushroom farms in South Jersey.

Frank continued playing soccer in various adult leagues around the area. He was also one of a group of men to help start the youth soccer program in Gloucester County, Franklin Twp., NJ. After coaching his two sons for a few years, he was introduced to indoor soccer. He immediately began to envision running his own indoor facility. Work began on a large steel building located along side his mushroom house.

In September 1986 Gaetano Indoor Soccer Inc officially opened its doors to the public. With youth soccer growing the way it was, it was no time at all until teams from all over the area began registering. Word started to spread about indoor soccer, and the small family business started seeing teams come from all of South Jersey, Philadelphia, and parts of Delaware. It was soon apparent that one indoor facility was not enough to handle all of the teams. So with the mushroom business dying, and the soccer business booming, Frank decided to convert his mushroom house into indoor facility number two.

With both facilities being used seven days a week including all day Saturday and Sunday, Frank knew that he made the right decision. Gaetano's offers age groups ranging from Under-6 through Over-18, for both boys and girls. Adult leagues for both men and women, along with coed leagues are also available. Adult and high school field hockey leagues are also available for women and girls. In September 1998, an addition was added to facility number one for indoor batting cages. Two hardball and two softball cages are available from January to May during indoor soccer hours only. There is also a concession stand located in facility number one for players and spectators. Gaetano's is a family run business, with sons Frank Jr. and Robert managing the everyday operations.
